This patient came to see us for a Semen Analysis after trying to conceive for 2.5 years. When we looked at the sperm we noticed a high number of round cells – which are usually white blood cells – and can indicate possible inflammation or infection.

Our Clinical Scientists recommended he have a semen culture and sensitivity test carried out and his semen showed growth of Escherichia Coli, which was then treated using antibiotics. 6-months later his semen parameters had vastly improved.
